About

This purpose-built Mecca Bingo hall is located on the northern outskirts of Gateshead. It occupies a large piece of land just off East Street and is easily accessed via the A167. It is a popular club with locals from both sides of the River Tyne.

It has ample off-street parking for players and is also very easy to get to via Loop 93, Loop 94 and Loop 94A buses – you stop on Hawks Road and walk to Mecca in less than a minute.

The club is very large inside and does get quite busy at peak times. It rarely reaches capacity though, so booking is not usually required unless a special event is running.

You will find an ATM inside in case you are running low on cash and there is a dedicated arcade area to while away the hours after the bingo has ended. If you are staying for any length of time then you may want to sample the delights of the diner and you will almost certainly want to partake in a drink or two from the well-stocked bar.

There is disabled access and parking available, and anyone needing a hearing loop can tune in to the frequency—just ask for details upon arrival.

Mecca Gateshead opening times are very easy to remember and the most important time is the closing time – which is 10.45pm Monday to Thursday and 11 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

Doors open from 11.45am Sunday to Friday and 10.45 am on Saturday meaning there is plenty of time for games.

Prices

When compared to other Mecca bingo clubs, the Gateshead branch fairs quite well with prices looking very reasonable. It is more expensive than some of the nearby Buzz clubs, however.

Prices start from just £2, and you will find plenty of individual games priced at this nominal amount. Main session games (particularly in the evening) are somewhat more expensive and range from £10 to £15.
