About
There are two Gala Bingo clubs in Derby City, with this one being the most central and located on Liversage Street just behind the Showcase Cinema de Lux and within close proximity to the main city shops, cafes, restaurants and various other attractions that form part of the Intu Shopping Centre.
The venue is pretty large and has on-site parking, making it very easy to get to (especially considering its city centre location), and with a multitude of public transport options, there is almost no reason not to visit.
The atmosphere in this place is excellent and the staff and players are very friendly. It gets busier on weekends and some weekdays when special promotions are running, but there is plenty of space inside this modern bingo hall.
Inside, you will find a large, spacious area for playing bingo with comfortable seating, plenty of electronic bingo, a cash machine, bar, restaurant and a well-stocked arcade area. The smoking shelter provides relief for those who need it and there is full disabled access inside and out.
The club has had a big push on its social media presence recently with a very active Facebook page and a dedicated Twitter account for the club itself. This is where you will find details of main promotions as well as news about their various charitable activities which have raised over £100,000 in 2017 alone.
If you are arriving at the club via public transport, then take a bus to the Intu Centre Stop (A3) on Traffic Street as this is the closest stop to Gala. Bus routes 2, 7, 234, 238, 239, 240, 255, 261 and 433 all service this area.
Promotions
There are a number of promotions running at the Derby City Gala Bingo branch, and you will find the latest deals on the company’s social media channels and occasionally on its website. At the time of writing they were running a text day where you can play bingo for free on a certain day if you provide your mobile number – pretty decent if you ask us.
Opening Times
The opening times at Gala Derby City Centre are quite extensive, with it being open 10am-12am Monday to Saturday and 12pm-12am Sunday.
Morning bingo sessions start at 11am Monday to Saturday with no morning session taking place on Sunday. Afternoon sessions start from 12.25pm weekdays and 12.45pm at weekends. Evening bingo starts from 6.45pm for the early game with the main games taking place at 7.30pm.
Prices
Prices at Gala Derby are very low compared to national prices, with first-chance games starting from £1, main sessions starting from just £2 (including Sunday afternoons), and the most expensive games being only £6. These are usually played at peak times such as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Evening. Electronic bingo is also on offer and provides even better value with multi-ticket deals.
